Information
Climate
Cancun is warm and agreeable year-round due to its location
south of the Tropic of Cancer. The rainy season is normally
from May to September, making it very humid at that time of
year.
Clothing
Casual, seasonal clothing is best for Cancun. Jackets and
ties are not worn unless you want to dine in a deluxe restaurant
that requires semiformal wear. Beach clothes are not worn
in the city.
Money
Mexico's official currency is the Peso but American Dollars
are accepted in most shops and restaurants. American Dollars
can be exchanged in banks, money exchange establishments and
hotels at the day's rate of exchange.

Shopping
Stores open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. There are shopping malls
in the hotel zone and on Tulum Avenue in downtown Cancun,
where you will also find many supermarkets, shops and handicraft
stores.
Mail
You can purchase stamps at your hotel's the front desk or
souvenir shop. Deliver your postcards to the front desk for
mailing.
Beaches
All beaches are public in Mexico. Please pay attention to
the flags posted by the hotel: green and yellow indicate safe
swimming conditions and red and black mean you should stay
out of the water.
